Tama the Stationmaster Cat Mourned in Japan

Tama the stationmaster cat is being mourned in Japan. The amazing cat was the stationmaster at the Kishi Station on the Kishigawa Line in Kinokawa, Wakayama, Japan. Tama died at age 16.

Tama would sit on a converted ticket booth according to the Wikipedia entry. She also had her own office with a litter box. Tama also wore a stationmaster uniform and hat. Tama had two feline assistant station masters. She was paid in cat food instead of a salary.

Many locals teared up at Tama's moving funeral ceremony. Take a look:
